vReveal 3 — who we created it for — busy creators

Here at MotionDSP, many of us are parents with young kids.

Our lives our busy, and at home, we don’t quite have the time we used to have to muck around with video software. We created vReveal 3.0 for busy parents like ourselves: busy Moms and Dads who want to do more with video, but haven’t had the right tool.
In our research, parents take hundreds of photos and videos on their mobile phones, but rarely share them, as they’re too hard to sort through and too big to upload over the air. But we won’t delete them – they’re too important. We also don’t have time to read manuals, so we’ve designed vReveal 3.0 to be simple, and look and feel much like something we’re comfortable with — mobile phone applications.
First, vReveal scans your hard drive and finds all your videos. Then it displays them in a thumbnail gallery you can scroll through — just like on your smartphone.

Here’s a video from one of our last ski trips of the year. It’s dark, shaky, the color is off, and it’s too long.

Step 1: Fix

Because this video was taken late in the day, it has a blue tint. Parents don’t have time to learn how to set the white balance setting, they just want their video fixed. We’ve wrapped up our sophisticated video processing algorithms into an automatic “one-click-fix.” You click “one click fix”, and vReveal corrects the color. Done. In fact, if you see the video in real life (as opposed to a still image), you’ll that it also shakes. vReveal fixes that as well, automatically.

Step 2: Trim. Maybe your video is too long, and you only want to share the part where the kid slides down the slope. You can quickly adjust the begin/end points with the easy-to-see thumbnail timeline.

Step 3: Save. You can choose iPad-compatible MP4, Windows Media, AVI format.

Step 4: Share. All you need to do is click on the YouTube or Facebook icon, type in your account info, and the fixed video is uploaded. Done.

Panorama

If you’ve ever used a panorama application before, you’ve probably had to use special tools to take the panorama – so you keep the camera level, and special tools to process the panorama – selecting the exact start and end-points. That’s all automatic in vReveal. MotionDSP’s image processing algorithms decide where the best panorama is within your video, and then uses aspects of every frame of video to stitch together a beautiful panorama.

This panorama below was created from a video taken on a Samsung Epic 4G. We opened the video up in vReveal 3.0, clicked “Panorama,” and this panorama was created. That’s it.

What kinds of panoramas can “you” make with vReveal? Try it out. www.vreveal.com
